Eileen & Alex’s wedding day was absolutely filled with so much joy and love. From the vibrant colors to the personal touches, it was such a special day for everyone involved. I had the pleasure of capturing all the beautiful moments that blended not only two people, but also two families and two cultures together. From the gate crashing games (who doesn’t love playing the floor is lava?!) to the tea ceremony (with a very special red envelope for the youngest member of the family), and of course, the stunning ceremony beneath the canopy of tree’s at Omahanui, taken by the wonderful Kelsey! This day was so totally Eileen & Alex. Fun, relaxed, genuine and heartfelt.
Eileen looked stunning in both her red tea ceremony gown and her wedding dress from Vanilla Bridal. She incorporated colour into her outfit not only through the vibrant florals from Hand Picked but her wedding veil that had been hand painted by one of her close friends, added such a unique and personal touch to the day.
Alex had gone for a dark green wedding suit from Barkers, which held up remarkably well for twerking…
Omahanui is such a great venue, Aimee and her team have really opened up the gardens, and it always looks immaculate. It really does make it a breeze when we don’t have to leave site for photos. After the ceremony Alex and Eileen chose to stand and hug and greet all their guests as they made their way through the winding path back to the front lawn, and we were able to follow along behind them to take a few photos as we went. This opened up a window for them to be able to mingle with their guests before we stole them away with their bridal party just up the drive.
The reception was held in the permanent Marque at Omahanui, and the decor was just “mwah!” So many smiles and laughs and tears as the stories were told. Then we switched gears for some dancing along to Sean from Pulse DJ’s and boy did we have some good dancers!!
I am always grateful for the opportunity to capture moments like these at bay of plenty weddings – full of fun, relaxation, and natural moments. From engagement photo shoots in Waihi to wedding ceremonies in Tauranga, I love being able to document these special moments for couples like Eileen & Alex. Cheers to many years of happiness for this amazing couple!
