From the moment I met Mark & Marizanne over a bowl of fries in a North Shore Cafe I knew they were an awesome couple and we were going to have a great time. Having had a chance to get to know them better while we did their engagement shoot, by the time I turned up on the wedding day it was like greeting old friends.

Marizanne had booked a BNB out Kumeu for her and her girls and she’d done an incredible job of bringing all the little details of her day together.

Mark and his lads got ready at the family home. Marizanne had sent a very moving letter and a special gift, a pin with four drops containing Marks grandparents faces in each pendant. A fine way to remember those who couldn’t be there that day.

Kumeu Valley estate was our venue for the day. I love the rustic charm of this place and the eye catching bell tower. Riverhead Forest, out west Auckland proved a magical backdrop for this cute couples wedding photos, we were able to just have fun and relax in this tranquil spot as the sun filtered through the trees. Love me some good backlight! The Bridal party was definitely one of the most committed, fun groups I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. So much great energy. The fun energy continued into the reception, with games and music that had everyone grooving…and a little bit of a special sneak out for some night portraits.

Venue: Kumeu Valley Estate

Kumeu Valley Estate is a fantastic venue location for hosting events. Its versatility with both outdoor and indoor ceremony options allows the hosts to make a quick change if the weather requires a shift indoors. It’s close proximity to Auckland yet rural location makes it an ideal location for a wedding, but it is good to note that it pays to book transportation well in advance, I’d suggest pre-arranging this or talking to Annette or the bar staff early to ensure a taxi can be booked.
