You wouldn’t think you’d find a piece of Tuscany on Waiheke Island, but that is exactly what Nick & Bec found at Poderi Crisci. It’s beautiful vineyard and perfect cottage garden surrounded by rolling hills made it easy to imagine you were in the heart of Italy.
I started the day with Bec’s at the gorgeous Onetangi Belle, with the best views over Onetangi Beach and Piemelon Bay. Up there, we honestly thought we were on top of the world. While the ladies were pampered by the team from The Peach Club, Nick and the boys were down at Onetangi Beach, hitting the waves.
When I asked them what was important to them about their day they told me that “their kids being a part of it was probably the most special part.”
From walking the bride down the aisle, passing the rings, taking a nap on mum’s dress mid ceremony and cutting the cake (and licking the cake topper – cause who doesn’t love cake!), their boys were definitely a central part of this important family event.
Being Beach lovers we had to take some time and make a quick dash down to Onetangi Beach, where we got some fabulous photos of the two of them and the boys.
Nick and Bec decided to go with the black clear marquee as away to bring the outdoors in. The long tables were reminiscent of long Italian lunches with the tables decoratedwith beautiful olive greenery. With multiple (divine) courses being brought out there were plenty of leisurely chats between plates and speeches as the wine passed back and forth down the tables. The chatter and vibe were amazing!
We had such a fantastic day with these two and before it ended with their first dance to Amore (appropriately the Italian word for love), we made one last dash for photos up the hill behind Poderi Cristi to catch the sunset. The views don’t get better than this!
